Hi,
I am already a big fan of the website, the colour scheme, the content, it's all great. My one big gripe with it is the format under the news tab. I would like the option also to see the news in a list or grid format. the current format is very jarring for me, it looks nice aesthetically, but it is a pain when I am searching for content. I am sure this may also apply to other people! Small change but very beneficial for the average reader!
Keep up the good work!
I’ll be blunt. I originally signed up because this site is the cheapest raffle with the best prizes for any Lego site anywhere. It’s still the number one reason why I am a paid subscriber and I’ve told all my friends that they should sign up because it is the cheapest monthly raffle going anywhere. Can’t improve there.
I have also converted completely to Dark Mode for my computers and phones so I don’t mind the dark setting. It works for me. Also I think I’m part sith so the dark side is in my veins.
Weighing up the pros and cons I’m a subscriber of many Lego sites for different reasons.
Rebrickable is where I keep track of my collection.
Brickset is where I go if I want to look at pictures of sets,
and of course BrickLink for shopping
New Elementary is where I go to learn, and to be honest, I’m not the biggest people person so while I understand there are those who want an online community I really aren’t that interested.
So I’m finding it difficult to come up with what I’d like to see on the site when the site is already perfect for me
The idea of the monthly raffle (and if I’m motivated enough to build a MOC for the monthly build competitions that’s also great) is unique.
I think you should focus on your strengths and what you’re already doing really well which is the monthly raffle.
I was just thinking about adams comment , what if someone joins as a regular non paid subscriber and paying subscribers could donate a months subscription like they do on youtube. So we see a list of non subs and i could donate to get paid membership for a month. Get to enjoy what they are missing out on and encourage them to be paid members.
Hi Team
I believe a monthly podcast which could include member and some questions and new and upcoming set would be great. I also think the large monthly prize draw would be awesome live on socials or on the website each month.
Just a few suggestions.
As a free member, I would personally like to see free entries into the competitions. You could do this by providing paid members with 5, 10 maybe more entries, maybe more depending on their membership. A free member could be given just 1 entry. This would allow free users a chance to still enter the competitions and potentially pull in new users to the site.
A nice top scrolling option bar
Awesome
Love the layout and content - love more facts and expert opinions from those who play more as I'm new to all
A light mode, and the layout could be more user-friendly. Also, there should be more giveaways like this one
I would love a better site layout, it's a bit dark and tends to be a bit hard on the eyes, especially the text font - for some reason it comes up pretty funky on my Chromebook and I have to squint to read anything lol .
I think a function to allow viewers to subscribe to your news articles would be really helpful in getting even more people to read them. This could be accomplished by getting visitors of the site to enter their email or phone number in a pop up which would then let them sign up to receive direct links, via whichever communication method they choose, for the newest articles the site posts.
The entire website is in a more “dark” theme, and while I get using to it, it would be nice to have a light mode too! Only then the green brick wouldn’t pop as much perhaps?
Maybe something that gives you a rarity valve on a figure or retired set. So we can get an estimated valve for the lego set if you wanted to resell it .
I would love to see suggestions on potential collectable Lego kits.
Maybe have a tab or posts regarding sets prices and investing. Some ideas could be editors pick for best set to invest in for the month (like how we saw the value of the tie pilot), top mini figures to buy or sell (like how it was good to sell captain Rex after y wing decreased its value), do you have these 5 sets which have increased in value since retiring
The site is a bit dark, and while dark is fine for me, something feels off. Maybe it’s the font or the neon green buttons. I love the concept you have set up here but it doesn’t show enough Lego for me. Maybe add some Lego figures as well throughout the design to give it more of a Lego vibe. Right now it feels more like a back alley thing. Maybe a “switch to light” option for users and/or by default light would help as well.
Sub heading, old shcool sets, 80s style "spaceman" (pun intended), pirates, castles, vikings, pre city ect. Have a user gallery of said sets, and a spot to load official & custom plans for those who dont have plans and would like to build said sets.
Something along those lines
Lets bring in some history...
Interviews with members of the Lego community, Lego photography competition, poll for wanted future UCS sets.
