Station is built, i haven't put the stickers on as all this gets broken up and sorted to colours for future builds for the build comp.

Hey CountDAta! Thanks for letting us know - we do have the ability to change the formatting of the news tab on our end, we might play around with it some more and see what we can do. Originally all of our articles were in one straight vertical line but it looked bland. We'll mess around with it and see if we can come up with a better presentation!

I know many news/blog websites have the option to alternate between different formats by pressing a button, something like that would be cool if it was possible!

We may need to raise having a toggle with the tech team. In the meantime, a result of your feedback we have updated the News tab and we’ll be adding additional categories soon to allow for easier navigation of articles.

Really appreciate the feedback there - when we launched Brick News we deliberately set the price as cheap as we could ($5 a month) knowing it was good value for our customers and very competitive in case another business tries to compete with us. The goal in the long run is to be able to expand our budget to have multiple prizes in each monthly draw - so as we grow we'll be able to expand on that. Thanks again for your time!

This is a cool suggestion - will certainly look into that and see if it’s possible. I might have to consult the tech team on that!

Thanks for your feedback! We do intend to start doing more videos down the track, including live broadcasts of the winner being drawn. A monthly podcast would certainly be interesting, we'll look into it 😉

Or just occasional compeitions that are not just members only.

Hey Adam, thanks for sharing your feedback. Unfortunately we can’t set it up that way, otherwise our competitions would turn into gambling. We do host free competitions from time to time over on our Instagram, but the major prizes will be locked to competitions only open to our paid members (which is fair, because they’re the ones funding the competitions through their subscription).

We are considering having a future draw which will be free for everyone to enter, but we still have to abide by the 1-entry-per-person rule in order to not violate certain state gambling laws in Australia. Keep an eye out for one of those future free comps 😉

Thanks for letting us know! Might be helpful to send through a screenshot so we can see how it looks on the Chromebook. We changed from the original white background with black text to the current black background with white text to fix this exact problem 🤣😭

Thanks for sharing this! We actually have the ability to enable this, however, if we post too frequently it increases the risk that inboxes will flag our emails as spam which is why we currently don’t do this. Typically if we post a new article we’ll send out an email to all registered site members (which is over 4000 people) but we usually wait at least a day or two between emails.

Dark and light switch . At least on my Android i can change it too dark mode. Its easier on my old eyes.

In our testing, we have noticed the Brick News logo does appear a bit bleak on a white background. In early development the original website looked standard with a white background and black text and the new colour scheme seems to go better (and makes it easier on the eyes).

With that being said, we have had a look at options for a light/dark toggle but it may be difficult to implement. Thanks for your feedback!

There is a Discord server that has a bot set up that can bring up the exact value of retired sets.

It’s a much better system than what we can host on our website, so if you want to find LEGO sets at the cheapest prices, or figure out how to price sets you want to sell, I’d recommend checking them out and using their bots (it’s free)

There’s quite a lot of collections to cover but we can definitely do some posts covering some of the different collections available!

Great suggestion! Lego is so costly these days that any financial tips in regards to Lego are so welcome.

Will definitely look into doing more posts for investors. Might even get some guest writers on that invest in LEGO sets and get their opinions too - thanks Josh!

Thought it would be a good idea because I’ve currently been going through all my Lego pricing them and some of them are gems and I’m sure others have sets worth heaps too they don’t know about

We have been looking into a light mode, however it seems a bit hard to pull off unfortunately because by default the website is technically already in light mode, it’s just the colour scheme that we have going (we looked at feedback from other websites that were too bright and ended up using a black background with white text).

From a legal standpoint, we can’t include LEGO minifigures or official bricks in the design of our website. While some content creators get away with it, our lawyers have advised we can’t use them as they’re trademarked by LEGO. However, we can include bricks that aren’t LEGO branded in our site design (like our logo).

Might consult with them again to see if silhouettes would be possible, as well as adding some non-branded bricks to the background to bring out the overall vibe you’re talking about. Thanks Christiaan 😎

Gotcha! Maybe dark grey would already be better than flat out black but I’m just thinking out loud here heh. I’m sure youll make the right calls and grow all of this. Good luck!

Some really good suggestions in there - biggest problem we face is that images can take a while to load, and plans/instruction manuals would have to be uploaded as a downloadable PDF - and most official LEGO sets from the last few decades have free downloadable instructions on the official LEGO website.

However, I am completely open to creating subheadings for old themes for people who want to show off their sets and MOCs. Good idea 😉

Poll will be going up soon, UCS Venator will be an option for September 😉

Interviewing members of the community is a good suggestion, I will look into that. Photography competitions are planned for the future when we have a bigger budget 😁 Thanks for your feedback Richard!
