Hi all! Brand new subscriber here at BrickNews. I was curious about everyone’s thoughts and opinions on the new LOTR line? There seems to be some controversy when it comes to how expensive the new sets are, Rivendell being $400USD and Barad-Dur being $460. Do you think the quality of the sets are in line with the prices? And what are your hopes for the future of LEGO LOTR? Personally, I’m a huge fan. Of the sets, not the prices. To get new sets and (and no remakes) of a theme adored by so many is a big win. As a kid, I remember seeing LEGO LOTR on store shelves and drooling over them, but never being able to get any other than one small $15 set. But now with “adult money”, I can live that childhood dream. Does anybody else have a similar experience or experiences with other LEGO themes?

I saw the first movie, i never really liked it. I wasn't into that series at the time.
I love the theme and adore the new sets for their designs but the price points for Rivendell and Barad Dur are way too high.
I also missed the first round, I also felt it was a really short release period for my wallet at the time.
Adult money is also turning into a lack of adult space 😂
I have Barad-dûr in my collection and I’m saving for Rivendell… the price point is certainly quite high but there are rumours that a full wave of Lord of the Rings sets will be potentially coming next year and be a lot more affordable… we’ll have to wait and see! I miss seeing so many sets on the shelves from the theme back 12 years ago…
