This week I finally got around to building the UCS Razorcrest. After careful measurements of my coffee table (IKEA Vittsjo 75cm - not pet/child friendly) I pulled the box from my backlog.
The Razorcrest reminded me of the Slave I build with the variety of techniques keeping it interesting, compared to say, the TIE Fighter. The level of detail is amazing, with almost every element of the ship reproduced in scale, including sleeping quarters and armoury.
Pictures don't do it justice either. This thing is big, comparable to the Millennium Falcon size and weight while also being just a bit more solid (no floating plates here - an obvious improvement since the Falcon).
Overall I really enjoyed it, enough variety to keep you going for several hours without being overwhelmed by the mostly uniform grey.
It seems nowadays that one of the biggest struggles for LEGO collectors is actually having the space or furniture available to display the sets on. Maybe the monthly draw prizes should’ve been coffee tables and shelves 🤣
Seeing the chairs in the background of the photo really helps to show off the size of the set! I’ve only seen it once in person but it’s huge!
